A quick update on our planning for Elderflower Fields this summerAs it stands, we are still confident that we will be able to safely produce the festival at the end of July. The government roadmap and vaccination programme remains on track, which is scheduled to allow full capacity events to take place from 21st June onwards. In the background, we are working on plans which include Covid specific risk mitigations, should they be required by central or local government. The guidance on this has not yet been issued so we are consulting with various bodies, especially the Association of Independent Festivals, to make sure we can adapt to deliver a safe event, whatever requirements end up being imposed. Additionally, as a small festival with a family audience, we are able to adapt our plans with relatively short notice if required and do not face the financial risks or infrastructural challenges that bigger festivals might have.We will aim to communicate with our audience as early as possible if any specific requirements are put in place, for example requirements to socially distance in front of stages or sharing of health certification, but it is important to note that at this stage, these are not firm requirements for events taking place after the 21st June. We’ve reduced the capacity a little bit this year, to take some pressure off the campsites, but the programme remains as full and exciting as ever. And don’t forget that we’ve also got a whole extra 24 hours of camping thrown in (for free) at the end of the weekend. This year you can stay on site on the Monday and enjoy the park, the Ashdown forest and all our wonderful food and drink vendors for a relaxing wind down after the festival programme finishes!…
